Giving direction

          1. DESCRIBING POSITION

     The office is near the station. It is only two minutes on foot.   

     - It is in/on Liberty Avenue, on the corner, on the left

     - It is next to the post office. (They are side by side)

     - It is opposite/across from the bank. (On the other side of road) 

      2. GIVING DIRECTION

     Come out of the General Post Office on Eighth Avenue.

-          Turn left into/onto Eighth Avenue

-          Go along/up/down Eighth Avenue

-          Take the first right onto West 33^rd Street.

       Walk past Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

-          Go across Seventh Avenue. Avenue of the Americas, and Broadway.

-          Go into the last building on the left.

-          Take the lift (US elevator) to the 102^nd floor. 

The restaurant is on the second floor.

     - The business center is above the restaurant, on the third floor.

     - Reception is below the restaurant, on the first floor. 

 I can’t move my car, because it is between two other vehicle

There is a lorry parked in front of me, so I can’t go forward.

  And there is bus behind me, so I can’t go back.
