QUESTION FORMS
Question can begin with question words

What Where Which How
Who When Why Whose
Where is the station?
In Baker street
Why are you laughing?
Because you look funny
Whose is this coat?
Mine
How does she go to work?

1. Here are some commonly used question forms:
What sort of music do you listen?
What kind of car have you got?
There is tomato soup or chicken soup- which one do you want?
How much do you weigh?
How tall are you?
How big is your bedroom?
What did you do that for?
Whose is this book?
What have you done with my slippers?
2. Questions which ask for descriptions.
The questions below both ask for descriptions. The first ask for quite objective information, and the second ask for a more personal reaction.
What was the party like?
How was the party?
3. Reported questions
The word order is the same as the statement.
Do/does/did is not added.
A: When did you arrive?
B: I arrived on Monday.
He asked me when I arrived.
Here are some more examples:
She wanted to know when I was born.
I wondered why I was going to Germany
She asked me where my parents lived.
4. Indirect questions
The word order is the same as the statements. Do/does/ did is not added.
He lives in Wimbledon.
I don’t know where he lives.
Here are some more examples:
I can’t remember what time the film starts.
I couldn’t understand what she was trying to say.
